Across India Land & Life
A Cross-Country Learning Journey Across India
Land & Life is an 11-day experiential learning journey from Bangalore to the Himalayas, designed to explore how climate, geography, water, and necessity shape human life.
To express your interest, please submit the RSVP with participant details. We will contact you to complete confirmation through advance payment and share the next steps.
This program is organised by Abheek (Bangalore) — an alternative learner-centric pedagogical space that believes in lifelong, experiential learning. The journey is designed and facilitated by Gautham Sarang (Walking Ferns), inspired by his own life-learning experiences beyond formal systems.
The travel itself becomes part of the classroom. As we move across India by train, we observe changing landscapes, river systems, settlement patterns, food cultures, and regional adaptations. The mountain leg includes the historic Kalka–Shimla railway, followed by a three-day village immersion in collaboration with Gram Disha Trust in Himachal Pradesh.
Participants will engage through observation, discussion, walking explorations, craft interactions, and reflective sessions. The focus is on learning by doing, slow travel, and respectful immersion, not tourism.
This journey is open to children (8–16) and families who value experiential education and are comfortable with shared travel, public transport, and simple village facilities.
Dates given are tentative. Will update soon.Â
