This summer, Walking Ferns invites children to step away from routines and spend a few days immersed in nature, culture, and friendship.

Our summer camps are not tightly scheduled programs. They are spaces where children explore freely, make friends, and discover their interests through real experiences.

Over four days, participants will live close to nature, play traditional games, walk through village landscapes, and learn by observing everyday life around them.

What we will explore

• Nature immersion and outdoor play
• Traditional games
• Nature walks and observation
• Village walks and interactions with local life
• Simple fishing experiences (depending on conditions)
• Visit to a local Ayurveda medicine preparation unit
• Stories and reflective conversations
• Free play and friendship building

The emphasis is on curiosity, participation, and shared experiences rather than structured instruction.

Stay and Food

Participants will stay in simple dormitory-style accommodation.

Food will be simple vegetarian home-style meals.
If available and feasible in the space, we may also try to prepare fresh local fish on one of the days, depending on availability.

Who can join

Age group: 6–16 years

Children who are comfortable staying away from their parents are welcome.

Younger children who wish to participate with one parent accompanying them are also welcome, with the intention of gradually helping the child become more independent. (Ask for your discount code if you are a parent planning to join with your little one) 

Camp Size

To keep the experience meaningful and personal, the camp will be limited to a maximum of 30 participants (including accompanying parents).

വാക്കിംഗ് ഫേൺസ് അവധിക്കാല ക്യാമ്പ്

📅 ഏപ്രിൽ 2 – ഏപ്രിൽ 5 📍 തപോവനം, ബദിരൂർ, കക്കോടി – കോഴിക്കോടു നിന്ന് 10 കിലോമീറ്റർ

ക്ലാസ് മുറികൾക്കും ചിട്ടവട്ടങ്ങൾക്കും അവധി നൽകി, ഈ വേനലിൽ നമുക്ക് മണ്ണിലേക്കും മനുഷ്യരിലേക്കും ഇറങ്ങാം. പ്രകൃതിയെ അറിഞ്ഞും, നാട്ടുവിശേഷങ്ങൾ പങ്കുവെച്ചും, പുതിയ കൂട്ടുകാരെ കണ്ടെത്തിയും കുറച്ചു ദിവസങ്ങൾ… ‘വാക്കിംഗ് ഫേൺസ്’ കുട്ടികൾക്കായി ഒരുക്കുന്ന വേനൽക്കാല ക്യാമ്പിലേക്ക് സ്വാഗതം.

ഇതൊരു ടൈം ടേബിളിനകത്തു നടക്കുന്ന പഠന ക്യാമ്പല്ല. മറിച്ച്, കുട്ടികൾക്ക് സ്വതന്ത്രമായി ഓടി നടക്കാനും, കൂട്ടു കൂടി കളിക്കാനും, സ്വന്തം താൽപ്പര്യങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്താനും അവസരമുണ്ടാവും. നാല് ദിവസത്തെ ഈ ഒത്തുചേരലിൽ നമ്മുടെ മക്കൾ ഗ്രാമത്തിലും, പുഴയോരത്തും, നടക്കുകയും, കളിക്കുകയും, പഠിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. 

എന്തൊക്കെയാണ് പരിപാടികൾ?

• നാടൻ കളികൾ
• പ്രകൃതി നിരീക്ഷണവും ഗ്രാമത്തിലൂടെയുള്ള നടത്തവും.
• സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ അനുകൂലമെങ്കിൽ തോടിനരുകിലെ മീൻപിടുത്തം.
• പരമ്പരാഗത ആയുർവേദ മരുന്ന് നിർമ്മാണ ശാലാ സന്ദർശനം.
• കഥകൾ, പാട്ടുകൾ, സംസാരങ്ങൾ.
• കൂട്ടു കൂടാനുള്ള സമയവും കളികളും.

മുതിർന്നവരും, കുട്ടികളും പങ്കാളിത്തത്തോടെ തീരുമാനിക്കുന്ന കളികളും കാര്യങ്ങളും ഈ ക്യാമ്പിലുണ്ടാവും.   കുട്ടികളേയും, അവരുടെ താല്പര്യങ്ങളേയും ഉൾക്കൊണ്ടു കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു ക്യാമ്പായിരിക്കും ഇത് എന്ന് പ്രത്യേകം പറയേണ്ടതില്ലല്ലൊ. 

താമസവും ഭക്ഷണവും ലളിതമായ ഡോർമിറ്ററി രീതിയിലുള്ള താമസ സൗകര്യമാണ് ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. സാധാരണ വെജിറ്റേറിയൻ ഭക്ഷണം ആണുണ്ടാവുക. ലഭ്യതയും സാഹചര്യവും അനുസരിച്ച് ഒരു ദിവസം നാടൻ മീൻ വിഭവങ്ങൾ തയ്യാറാക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതാണ്.

താമസം ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത കുട്ടികൾക്കും പങ്കെടുക്കാം. അവർക്ക് സമയത്ത്, സുരക്ഷിതരായി ക്യാമ്പിലെത്താനും തിരിച്ച് വീടെത്താനുമുള്ള സൗകര്യം രക്ഷിതാക്കൾ ഒരുക്കിയാൽ മതിയാവും. 

ആർക്കൊക്കെ പങ്കെടുക്കാം?

• പ്രായം: 6 മുതൽ 16 വയസ്സുവരെയുള്ളവർക്ക്.
• വീട്ടുകാരെ പിരിഞ്ഞുനിൽക്കാൻ മടിയില്ലാത്ത കുട്ടികൾക്ക് നേരിട്ട് പങ്കെടുക്കാം.
• ചെറിയ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് മാതാപിതാക്കളിൽ ഒരാളോടൊപ്പം വരാവുന്നതാണ്. കുട്ടിയെ സ്വതന്ത്രരായി കളിക്കാനും മറ്റും അനുവദിക്കുന്നവരായിരിക്കണം. അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഈ ക്യാമ്പ് കുട്ടിക്ക് പ്രയോജനം ചെയ്യില്ല എന്ന് ഓർമ്മിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ. (ചെറിയ കുട്ടികൾ ഉള്ള മാതാപിതാക്കളിൽ ഒരാൾ ഒപ്പം വരുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഡിസ്കൗണ്ട് കോഡിനായി ഞങ്ങളെ ബന്ധപ്പെടുക).

ഏവർക്കും വ്യക്തിപരമായ ശ്രദ്ധ ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനായി ക്യാമ്പിലെ അംഗങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണം 30 ആയി (മാതാപിതാക്കൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ) പരിമിതപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
