Visit to the one and the only Brain Museum in India! November 4, 2025

We’re thrilled to announce the details of our highly anticipated discovery trip to the Brain Museum, Bengaluru—the only one of its kind in India!

This is a rare and fantastic opportunity for your child to get hands-on experience with neuroscience.

Key Details:

  • Date: Tuesday, November 4th, 2025

  • Time: Tentatively 9:30 AM to lunchtime (The museum will confirm the final timing closer to the date.)

  • Location: Brain Museum, Bengaluru

  • Age Advisory: Please note that the museum’s guided tour content is best suited for 14 year and above. Younger students (e.g., ages 9-10) who are enthusiastic about science and mature enough to handle complex topics are  encouraged to attend.

A Rare Opportunity for Your Child

The museum’s mission is to make everyone N-Literate (Neuroscience Literate). Your child will gain unique, unforgettable insights:

  • Hands-On Learning: Touch a real human brain (If your child is excited about this)

  • Live Demonstrations: Watch fascinating live neuroanatomy demonstrations.

  • Explore: See over 400 preserved brain specimens, collected over 40 years.

  • Health & Science: Learn essential facts about brain health, common diseases, and neuroscience.

  • Unique Exhibits: Get an up-close look at the brain through an electron microscope and view comparative exhibits like a smoker’s lungs and a human skeleton.

(This highly anticipated booking has been in the works since January!)

Seats are strictly limited to 30 attendees. We prioritize giving children this unique opportunity; therefore, in the event of high demand, we may kindly request that parents who wish to accompany their child wait outside the museum to allow another child to attend.

Optional Afternoon Extension

Depending on the schedule, the children’s energy, and how much they explore inside the museum, we plan to extend the trip with an optional visit:

  • We may explore the old bookstores on Church Street and take a metro ride.

  • We’ll adapt the schedule on the day, as children sometimes spend more time asking questions and clearing doubts.

Details for the optional afternoon will be confirmed with enrolled parents closer to the date.

frequently asked questions

Is photography or videography allowed inside the museum?

No. Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the Brain Museum. This rule is enforced to ensure visitors focus on the educational session and to maintain the museum's decorum. Please ask your child to keep their mobile phones on silent mode throughout the visit.

Will transportation be provided?

Transportation logistics are not provided by us. Registered parents will be provided with detailed instructions on how to reach the NIMHANS campus.

What if we are running late?

Please don't be! The museum guided tour is a group session with a fixed start time. We request all attendees to arrive at the designated meeting point at least 15 minutes before the confirmed start time. Unfortunately, if the group has already entered the museum session, latecomers may not be able to join due to the nature of the guided tour.

How many seats are available?

We have a strict maximum capacity of 30 attendees for this guided tour as per the instructions from the museum.

Can parents attend the tour with their child?

We prioritize giving the limited seats to children. In the event of high demand, we may kindly request that parents who wish to accompany their child wait outside the museum so that another child can take that spot. Please mention your intention to attend when you register.

When will the exact timing be confirmed?

The exact start and end times are determined by the museum, and we expect confirmation approximately 1-2 weeks before the event date (around late October). We will notify all registered parents immediately.

What is the exact address of the museum?

The Brain Museum is located within the NIMHANS Neurobiology Research Centre (NRC) campus on Hosur Road, Bengaluru. Full details and directions will be provided to registered attendees closer to the date.

Is there an entry fee for the museum?

No, the entry to the NIMHANS Brain Museum is typically free of cost. Your registration fee covers our group's coordination, guided tour arrangements, and all other event logistics.

What is the expected duration of the visit?

The core museum visit and guided session usually lasts about 3 hours (from the 9:30 AM start until lunchtime). The optional afternoon exploration will extend the day further.

What should my child wear/bring?

Please ensure your child wears comfortable clothing and walking shoes. They should bring a water bottle and a small snack. Photography is usually prohibited inside the museum, so no cameras are needed.

Will my child be exposed to graphic content?

The focus is entirely educational, but the museum contains preserved human specimens and medical exhibits (such as real brains, organs, and skeletons). We ask parents to gauge their child's sensitivity level, as the display is anatomical, not fictional/horror-related.

Is it mandatory to touch the human brain specimen?

No. The unique "Touch & Feel" session is entirely optional. Children who wish to participate will do so under the expert supervision of the museum staff.
